Erin Whitbread
Founder

Tell us a little about yourself….

I am originally from the UK and moved to Sydney in 2000 with my family. I have four children; Frankie, Asher, Reece & Jude and have been married to Simon for 10 years. I love food, coffee, exercise, organisation. I opened Tempo Freshwater in February 2023 and Tempo Seaforth in March 2024 and love running the business'.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I have worked in the fitness space for 13 years. I spent the first five years of my career working as a Personal Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach. It was after my second pregnancy that I discovered Matwork Pilates and decided to study the modality so I could give my clients more Core exercises. Reformer Pilates felt like a natural progression for me as it blended Pilates and Strength training. I have been teaching Reformer Pilates for six years now and love that I am continually learning and still feel challenged professionally during every shift.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

A seamless flow that incorporates lots of movement patterns working in all planes of movement. My classes always include the props to ensure you get the most from every session. I love training legs myself so my classes always have a keen focus on lower body especially glutes.

Tell us a little about yourself….

Hi I’m Paris! When I’m not teaching you’ll find me swimming down at the beach, going on a speed walk with an almond cap in hand or training! Oh I also still experience “Pilates shakes”

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I was stuck in a bit of a rut during COVID and I was totally sick of my current job at the time. I loved Pilates and found that it was an outlet for me so I thought I’d take the leap and start teaching and I’m SO thankful I did- it’s been the best 2 years of my life

What can we expect from one of your classes?

I try to do something different every week! I love fun transitions and taking the class on a journey from start to finish. And pulses…lots of pulses haha

Kate Van Houten
Head Trainer

Tell us a little about yourself….

I have over 23 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. I’m a personal trainer, health coach, and a yogi, with a real passion for reformer Pilates—it’s definitely one of my favourite ways to move. My focus has always been on helping you move better, feel stronger, and reconnect with your body. I believe true wellbeing goes beyond just exercise; it’s about building confidence in how you move, developing strength that supports your everyday life, and creating a deeper awareness so you can feel your best both physically and mentally

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

A combination of instinct and passion. About 12 years ago, I could sense that the fitness industry was shifting in that direction, but more importantly, I genuinely fell in love with the method itself. I was drawn to the focus on functional movement—it works every part of the body in a balanced, supportive way, and it’s accessible to everyone. What I love most is its flexibility. On days when you’re feeling strong, you can really lean in and get an incredible, challenging workout. And on days when you’re not, you can tailor it to meet your body where it’s at, without losing the benefits. It’s fun, creative, and constantly evolving, which keeps both me and my clients engaged and inspired.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

You can expect a supportive environment where I focus on getting the very best out of you, while still meeting you exactly where you’re at. Every session is designed to be fun, challenging, and tailored so you feel both capable and motivated. I aim to create workouts that not only build strength and improve movement, but also leave you feeling inspired and more connected to your body. You’ll walk away feeling stronger, more confident, and energised

Brogan Lipman

Tell us a little about yourself….

Hey I'm Brogan! Originally from the UK but I've been a Sydney local for over 10 years now, loving life on the sunnier side of the world. When I'm not in the Pilates studio you can catch me outside whether that's at the beach or for a walk over the beautiful Northern Beaches headlands.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I've been practicing Mat & Reformer since 2018 and after a career break in 2023 I decided to turn that hobby into a new skill outside of my day-to-day job, because I knew I needed an enjoyable alternative to sitting at my laptop. I'm always looking for new ways to learn so I can continue to grow as an instructor and help clients to get stronger.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

Lots of layers! I like a 'pick your poison' approach whilst encouraging you to find your challenge point. I'm there to support you the whole class, modifying where you need but helping you to get stronger and have fun whilst you do.

Sienna Melhem

Tell us a little about yourself….

I’m a Northern Beaches local and have lived here all my life. My Mum and my sister are both Reformer Pilates teachers and I started taking their classes in 2020 and from that moment I absolutely fell in love with the practice.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

With a strength training background, I bring a unique approach to my teaching, blending classical Pilates with athletic movements. I love creating dynamic, high-energy classes that challenge the body, improve strength, and enhance overall athletic performance.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

My goal is to help people build muscular endurance, core stability, and power while keeping movement fun.

Ange Tandon

Tell us a little about yourself….

Hi I'm Angela, but you can call me Ange! I'm a Sydney gal, originally from the North-West, but I spend a lot of my time on the beach - particularly at Freshie. In my spare time you can find me at the beach having a sunrise swim, at the gym, doing laps at my local pool, walking my dog, hanging out with my family and friends, and of course - doing pilates!

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I was working a full-time corporate job while getting my pilates certification, and my main motivation was to help my parents improve their health and mobility. Since becoming certified in 2024, I left my corporate career to pursue pilates part-time, and have found it to be an extremely rewarding career. I love helping others move better and feel stronger in their bodies - from those recovering from injuries, to those simply trying to increase strength. Being a gym-thusiast for 8+ years, I found that pilates is a great complement to weightlifting at the gym, as it often targets muscle groups that are neglected in traditional gym routines. I have a genuine passion for helping people get stronger, and I'm a firm believer that movement is medicine. I'm on a mission to make pilates more accessible to everyone!

What can we expect from one of your classes?

Expect functional, intentional workouts that target specific muscle groups. My classes always focus on the full-body - with a specific target area from upper body, lower body, and core. Each class, you can expect to work the selected muscle to its full potential, providing sufficient tension to the muscle to stimulate muscle growth and endurance. No two sessions are the same - one session you may work inner thighs and triceps, and the next you might work glutes and back. I'm always prepared to modify for your personal needs and abilities - so never be afraid to let me know if anything feels funny on your body, we can change it up to help you move better!

Connie Franks

Tell us a little about yourself….

Hey I’m Connie! Originally from the UK and moved to Sydney in 2025 with my fiancé to start our exciting new chapter! I love the simple things; coffee, swimming, cute dogs, Aperol’s in the sun, feel-good movement, family and friends. With a background in gymnastics and dance, movement has always been a huge part of who I am, so Pilates felt like the perfect way to reconnect with that passion.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I fell in love with Reformer Pilates back in England when I was working as a long haul flight attendant, because no matter how tired or jet lagged I felt, I ALWAYS left class feeling stronger, clearer minded, and more energised. It quickly became a huge part of my routine, and when I moved to Australia, I knew it was time to take the leap and train as an instructor. I love helping people feel good in their bodies and seeing clients leave class feeling uplifted, confident, and proud of what their bodies can achieve.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

Expect a laid-back, inclusive, friendly atmosphere with plenty of juicy layers to keep you challenged. My classes focus on creating balance between body and mind while building strength, confidence, and body awareness. I'm there to be your biggest cheerleader, but most importantly, I want you to leave feeling stronger, more connected to yourself, and with a smile on your face and maybe a little shake in your legs too!

Tell us a little about yourself….

I moved to Sydney with my partner in January 2024, I was previously living in London but originally from Gloucestershire. My hobbies include travel, running, and when I’m not working I love to be in the kitchen making a mess and experimenting with new recipes.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

Living in London my life was very busy, I was constantly on the move and I believed that in order for a workout to be a ‘good one’ it had to be sweaty, I had to be out of breath and my heart had to be racing. When I tried reformer Pilates my body was challenged in so many ways, slowing movements down, moving with a purpose and that addictive Pilates burn soon got me hooked on a different style of workout. The concentration required in Pilates allowed me to shut out the noise of a busy life and i quickly became obsessed, I now teach reformer so that I can share how great Pilates is with as many people as possible.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

You can expect a strong flow, lots of options to modify and progress, many pulses and of course that addictive Pilates burn!!

Millie Russell

Tell us a little about yourself….

I’m a Kiwi girl who has recently made the move to the Northern Beaches for the beachy lifestyle and bigger opportunities. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am currently completing a Diploma in Nutrition and a Certificate in Women’s Hormones and Health Coaching. When I’m not teaching Pilates, you’ll often find me at the beach, watching the sunrise, or moving my body at a Pilates class or the gym.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I had been to a few Pilates classes and really enjoyed the type of movement. When the opportunity came up to complete my teacher training certificate in 2022, I took it — everything fell into place, and I’ve been teaching ever since. Since then, I’ve become really interested in the science behind Pilates, including how it supports longevity, strengthens the mind-to-muscle connection, and encourages efficient movement in everyday life.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

You can expect a challenging class with lots of layers to suit all levels. I like to challenge tempo and control — encouraging you to connect your mind to your muscles. The aim of my classes is to build a strong foundation of movement, improving strength, posture, and awareness in everything you do — both inside the studio and outside the studio. I also love a good finisher — that little extra push to really challenge your mind and body!

Jacqui Venteman

Tell us a little about yourself….

I grew up in Terrey Hills along with my Mum, Dad and sisters. Daily walks, ocean swims and backyard margies are a small list of my favourite things to do especially in the summer time. One of my biggest dislikes are green peas, you’ll never see me eating those, it’s about the texture.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 10 years and teaching reformer for almost 3 years. Reformer Pilates is one of my favourite forms of exercise and has been ever since I was a client. I loved coming to classes as a client, I learnt a lot about my body not only the physical aspect but more importantly the positive impact Pilates has on my mental health. I wanted to share the love and importance of Reformer Pilates and in general the movement of our bodies and how it helps our mental health.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

Coming to my classes you can always expect a core burner sprinkled throughout the session, we share a laugh, talk about our weekends all while feeling a spicy sizzly burn.

Andie Milligan

Tell us a little about yourself….

Hi, I’m Andie! I’m a Northern Beaches local who loves staying active and healthy. You’ll usually find me at the beach, training, or catching up with friends over a coffee and a walk. I love moving my body and combining both strength training and Reformer Pilates is my favourite way to move.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

I started doing Reformer Pilates back in 2021 to support my recovery from ACL injuries, and I quickly fell in love with it and haven’t stopped since. In my final year of high school, I decided to get my qualifications and turn that passion into something more. I’ve always been really interested in the body and how it works, so becoming an instructor felt like a natural step, and I haven’t looked back. I love how you can isolate different muscle groups and really focus on building strength in a controlled, effective way, while still improving overall movement and stability.

What can we expect from one of your classes?

You can expect a challenging yet supportive environment, with strong progressions designed to get the whole body working. I love layering exercises to build intensity, so you’ll feel that full-body burn while still moving with control and purpose.

Claudia Harris

Tell us a little about yourself….

Originally from the UK, I moved to Sydney just over a year ago—what was meant to be a short stay quickly turned into something more permanent! I completely fell in love with the lifestyle here. Growing up in a small village in the Cotswolds, being part of a local community has always been important to me, and I love bringing that same sense of connection to the studio. When I’m not teaching, you’ll most likely find me at the beach or strolling through the shops in Freshwater and Manly.

What drew you to become Reformer Pilates teacher?

After completing my degree in Sports and Health Science, I knew I wanted to work in a field where I could help people achieve their health goals. I became a Reformer Pilates instructor because movement has always been a source of joy for me, and I love sharing that with others. Teaching allows me to encourage people to move their

What can we expect from one of your classes?

In my classes, you can expect a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with carefully sequenced flows designed to get you into that ‘zone’ where you can leave any stress at the door. I love incorporating a spicy ab or glute burner, so be ready to feel the shake! My classes are designed to be dynamic and challenging, with plenty of layers so you can choose to advance at your own pace. You’ll get a full-body workout that targets every muscle group—burning each one to fatigue—leaving you feeling satisfied, strong, and energised.
